It is a story of growth, second chances and love. I loved Lanie from the moment she appeared on the page and my heart broke for her. When Cardinals Appear is an engaging story as Lanie confronts her past and those around her. She has past hurts, not just from Nate, but her father, brother and her late mother as well. Lanie must learn to stand up and figure out what she wants in life and how to be happy. I also loved that the cardinal is an important part of Lanie’s story and I loved Lanie’s interaction with it. There were tears shed as Lanie comes to grips with her new normal and her life altering decisions. I highly, highly recommend When Cardinals Appear.
