Christmas in Snow Valley: a second chance romance novella

Christmas in Snow Valley is the first book in the Hometown Christmas series by Tammy L. Grace. After leaving Snow Valley for college and building a life in New York City, Emily Bishop is returning to her hometown for Thanksgiving. When her sister and her husband have to leave town, Emily reluctantly extends her stay and helps fill her sister’s shoes for the upcoming Christmas festivities. She hopes she doesn’t run into Nick Morgan, the boy who broke her heart fifteen years ago. That is until he walks in. She is shocked and prepared to give him a piece of her mind. When a massive snowstorm hits, leaving them snowed in, it is the perfect opportunity to clear the air. Could they even have a second chance at love? 

Christmas in Snow Valley is a quick novella filled with second chance romance and the magic of Christmas. Of course, there are two adorable, lovable dogs. It wouldn’t be a Tammy L Grace book if there wasn’t. The way she writes about dogs almost makes me want one, almost. I enjoyed Emily and Nick’s reconciliation and the snowy atmosphere definitely gives it a romantic feel. I loved the small town feel as they threw themselves into the holiday season. Overall, I enjoyed this novella and I am looking forward to other books in this series. If you are looking for a Christmas romance for an afternoon of reading, I highly recommend Christmas in Snow Valley. So grab a cup of hot cocoa and bundle up to enjoy this Christmas romance.

Greetings from Lavender Valley: a wonderful new series!

Greetings from Lavender Valley by Tammy L Grace is the first book in the new Sisters of the Heart series. Jewel Austin has been a foster mother to dozens of children; but five girls hold an extra special place in her heart. Through the years, she kept in touch with these girls as they grew into women and found their place in the world. Now in her eighties, Jewel knows her time is short and she has an unusual request. Her last wish is for them to return to the Lavender Valley Farm and find the sanctuary they once had there. Jewel has a feeling these women will need each other as they navigate life’s difficulties and the loss of the only parental figure they have known. 

Told through Jewel’s letters and journal entries, readers learn about the five little girls who grew into women under her care. From different circumstances and hurts, they came to Jewel’s farm and found a mother’s love. While it was not the story I was expecting; however, it was Jewel’s unconditional love and devotion to these women through their lives as they came to her home, stayed and then went out into the world, that pulled me in. I am looking forward to reading the rest of their series and seeing how these five women respond to Jewel’s final request. I recommend Greetings from Lavender Valley.

Beach Haven: a new chance for a new beginning

Beach Haven by Tammy L Grace is the first book in the Glass Beach Cottage series. Lily Reed is no stranger to loss. However, after the tragic death of her husband, she is desperate to escape the memories surrounding her. Leaving all she has known behind her, she decides to return to the Pacific Northwest and restore the Glass Beach Cottage that she inherited from her beloved uncle. As life by the ocean soothes her and the kindness of her new friends, she restores the Glass Beach Cottage and welcomes new guests. Along with the healing power of the sea, Lily learns she has strength and, with all the joys and sorrows of life, the best remedy for her own grief is in helping others. 

Beach Haven is a story of a heartbreaking loss, an unexpected inheritance and a chance for a new beginning. It is a great, fast paced and enjoyable read for a laid back afternoon. As I read, I was reminded of Ms. Grace’s Hometown Harbor series, which also takes place in the Pacific Northwest. My heart broke for Lily and I admired her decision to start fresh. The story definitely leaves it open for more adventures at the Glass Beach Cottage and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. If you enjoy small towns and new beginnings, I recommend Beach Haven.

Welcome Aboard: a prologue book introducing each story in the series

Welcome Aboard is the prologue book in the new Sail Away series with different contributing authors including Jessie Newton, Tammy L Grace, Kay Bratt and many more. In Welcome Aboard, the prologues from each of the eight books are presented to pique your interest for the rest of the series. Each book takes place on a cruise in which the main characters learn lessons in friendship, healing, and even a little romance. 

The Sail Away series is in the similar format as last year’s The Wishing Tree series. The difference with this series is each book is standalone. There is no interconnectedness between books. So you can read all, a few or out of order and you will be able to enjoy the story. As I read the prologues, some of the stories intrigued me to want to read the full story while others did not bring me into the story. However, the full story may be more intriguing than the prologue is presenting. I look forward to reading this series. I recommend Welcome Aboard.

Chet is committed to learn more about the woman he recognizes as the young girl he used to know. His appearance in town has awakened something in Norma’s heart. Does she dare hope that her overdue wish could come true? 

Linden Falls is a town where wishes come true. Sometimes they are granted right away and some take years. Long after the individual has long given up. Overdue Wishes is a sweet story of undue guilt, forgiveness and second chances at love. Norma hides a secret that even her dear late husband didn’t know. I enjoyed Norma and her dedication to her adopted home. I loved Chet’s loving forgiveness toward Norma as he convinces her that he has held nothing against her and his sweet pursuit of her. There was one moment I held my breath as I waited for the outcome. Surely Norma and Chet’s story wouldn’t end like that? Overall, I enjoyed this trip to Linden Falls and witness Norma and Chet’s love story blossom. I highly recommend Overdue Wishes as well as all the books in The Wishing Tree series.

Wish Again: through grief and love we find the strength to wish again

Wish Again by Tammy L. Grace is the fourth book in The Wishing Tree series. Paige Duncan returned to Linden Falls after the sudden death of her husband. She sought comfort and contentment of her hometown and her beloved mother, Margot. It was to be short-lived when her mother suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in her sleep. In the midst of her grief, she struggles to keep her mother’s beloved bookstore afloat. She lost her trust in the town’s Wishing Tree long ago. After a series of one crushing blow after another, she feels she’s floundering. But soon Paige hears her mother’s voice reminding her to simply wish again. As summer turns into autumn, a series of events reminds Paige that she is stronger than she realizes and to take a chance for happiness. Will she take the chance and wish on the Tree one more time? 

Wish Again is a sweet story about grief, moving forward and finding hope and love again. I was shocked when I opened the first page to learn that Margot had passed away! Readers are introduced to Margot and her beloved bookstore in the previous books. Even after a brief introduction, I was sad to see her gone. My heart went out to Paige as she is still under the cloud of grief from her husband’s death, the clouds get darker with her mother’s sudden death. I loved Paige’s character. Even though she didn’t believe in the magic of the Wishing Tree, it didn’t stop her from granting a wish. Slowly but surely, she finds a new joy and sense of purpose. She learns that life goes on and it can get better. If you are enjoying The Wishing Tree series, I highly recommend Wish Again.
